Introduction Ridgeway Cottage sits amidst tea gardens, on the border of the Longwood Shola. The cottage is an elegantly delightful 125-year-old planters bungalow set on the hillside with a breath taking view of the valley that slopes into the town from a distance of a kilometer and a half. Ridgeway is fully furnished house spread over 1800sq ft…where you will be looked after and given every assistance to make your holiday a pleasant one.

Accommodation - The Cottage has Two Suites. Each Suite consists of a double bedroom and one single bedroom with an attached bathroom (Hot water showers and Western Style Toilets). Each suite can accommodate up to 3 adults comfortably with arrangements for 8 people in total.
Laundry – Semi automatic Washing Machine
Meals – We provide the facility of a cook on request. Guests may choose to cook their own meals. The kitchen has a Refrigerator, Oven, Cooking Range, Utensils and Crockery. Guests can do their own marketing in the local market, which offers fresh vegetables, fruits and meats. The local stores are also well stocked with packaged foods, essentials and toiletries. There are a number of places in the Town where tourists can eat at very reasonable rates.
Indoor Recreation - Television (Cable TV), board games and a library. Guests are requested to bring their own reading materials as well.
Telephone – For receiving calls. Your mobile phone will work over here as well.
Room Heaters – We have portable electric room heaters for chilly evenings.
Vehicle – A van which will be driven by the caretaker is available on a nominal charge. The caretaker will assist in hiring other vehicles as well for sightseeing.
The caretaker is there to help out with any other requirements. A doctor lives in the neighbouring cottage in case of a medical urgency.
Length of Stay
Stay for as long as you can!! We recommend at least three days to do justice to the sight seeing, take in the mountain atmosphere and rejuvenate. You will also find this an ideal place for inspirational work, complete your writing and put the finishing touches to your paintings.
You can visit Kotagiri all year around, but the best time to visit is from February to June and September to November.

Getting There
Air: Nearest Airport - Coimbatore (71 km / 3 hrs). Cab costs Rs. 800/- from Coimbatore.
Rail: Through Coonoor Station. Take the Mountain Train (The Mettupalayam-Udhgamandalam Passenger from Mettupalayam. Travel from Coonoor to Kotagiri by cab.
Road: Kotagiri can be reached from Bangalore through Ooty (25 km / 1 hr) or from Coimbatore (71 km / 3 hrs) via Mettupalayam.
