NATURE DOES MATTER
BANDHAVGARH
UPDATE FROM JUNGLE MANTRA RESORT: Bandhavgarh has set out to prove that when it comes to
Tiger Reserves in India there's none better - with amazing sightings,
fabulous drives into a gorgeous park and now a breathtaking surprise at the
Fort which is accessible to everyone.
The big cats have got their
act together. On the 29th September a leopard appeared in full view of our
Chakor Ghar - lazily dropped from one tree branch to another and wove his way
back into the jungle- Fantastic!
The next day who do we find
waiting alongside the main road but the notorious Chaubera cubs, with the
resigned elephants and mahouts playing nanny to them whilst they wandered about
to their hearts content.
One great development has
been that visits to the Bandhavgarh Fort, which is now open for everyone. The
Park authorities have licensed 5 vehicles which can ferry tourists to the top of
the Fort. The charges are reasonable and well worth the trip, at Rs. 2500 plus
entry tickets.
